Quotes[]

Colin McRae: DiRT 2[]

  • "Hi, my name's Tanner Foust. It's great to meet you. I've heard that Japan will be next for us. Why don't you do a little prep and I'll find out when we're going." - Tanner teasing the player about unlocking Japan.
  • "I just found out that we can go to Tokyo at any time. What do you say?" - Tanner after the player reaches level 6 to unlock events at Japan.
  • "There are five different gearbox settings available. Closer gear ratios will give you better acceleration, but will compromise top speed. Spacing the gear ratios out will improve maximum top speed, but will reduce short-term acceleration." - Tanner explains gear ratios
  • "Increasing the downforce will give the car better acceleration by allowing the car to get better traction. Decreasing the downforce will allow the car to get better top speed." - explaining downforce
  • "On the rough surface stages, softer suspension will encourage the car to slide more. It will also make sure the wheels stay in contact with the road surface over the rough terrain. On smoother surfaces, you'll be able to stiffen the suspension and increase the grip. This is because the vehicle is able to shift its weight quicker and improve its responsiveness." - explaining suspension
  • "Increasing the ride height of the car increases ground clearance on rougher surfaces, but in turn, makes the car less stable and more likely to slide." - explaining ride height
  • "Changing the differential settings to strong will encourage the wheels to spin more under acceleration, thus causing more oversteer. If you set the differential to loose, it will allow the wheels to move more independently. This reduces oversteer, but also reduces the power that's transferred to the road surface." - explaining differential
  • "Shifting the brake bias to the front increases understeer and reduces stability. Shifting the brake bias to the rear will help stabilize the car under braking and increase oversteer on the brakes." - explaining brake bias
  • "Colin McRae was such a big influence on my career. You certainly did him proud."- When the player won the Colin McRae Challenge.
