In their effort for 2017 World Rallycross Championship season, 2-times World RX champion Petter Solberg joint forces with 2016 runner-up Johan Kristoffersson, forming PSRX Volkswagen Sweden in a collaboration with Volkswagen Motorsport, thus led to the creation of the '''Volkswagen Polo GTI Supercar'''. Built upon a 2014 [[Volkswagen Polo R WRC]] chassis, the Polo GTI Supercar has undergone several modifications to make it viable for rallycross competition.
